Thermoformed Products in the Appliance Industry |
Thermoformed products have been used in the appliance industry for over 55 years beginning with Brown Machine shuttle and rotary cut sheet thermoforming machines. Inline cut sheet thermoforming machines became the industry standard until 2006, when Brown developed an advanced four station pressurized rotary machine for high speed processing of refrigerator doors and cabinet liners. This advanced rotary concept allows for cycle times that are equal to inline cut sheet thermoforming equipment, but have additional benefits of lower capital investment, a smaller footprint, lower maintenance costs, and easier operation.

Appliance products are produced on both shuttle and rotary cut sheet equipment utilizing vacuum and pressure processes. The thermoforming equipment is generally sized up to a 44” x 82’area with larger sizes available. Typical materials used are HIPS and ABS. |
